You're right about "older" memories being easier to recall. I can rhyme off players and teams and football scores from my youth yet find it hard to remember some games from last season!

Christmas time is busy for me with all the rounds of parties etc. so I will be closing the shop. Thanks all, for your comments on my blogs the past year.

Best wishes for the festive period CI, Dolores and Expat.
JW10https://www.blogger.com/profile/06900900012977715640noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36835179251153747.post-1363190582441176322012-12-19T11:26:31.425+00:002012-12-19T11:26:31.425+00:00Zowee CI - a Fabulous Secret? And talking about memory, I'm increasingly finding it easier to remember stuff from long ago than more recent stuff. I've no idea why this is, so I am writing my autobiography backwards, in order to document the most recent stuff before I forget it.

Trouble is, new stuff keeps happening to me, so the stuff that I'm writing about isn't the newest any more.

Anyway, after Notting Hill we moved to West Hampstead, to another terrace house which had a fabulous secret (watch this space!).

Incidentally, have you ever counted the number of different addresses you've lived at? I wonder what the national average is...

Hope you and George and cats have a fab Christmas!!!
:-)Canary Islanderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12559374655320416333noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36835179251153747.post-59348076411631995942012-12-17T15:42:22.793+00:002012-12-17T15:42:22.793+00:00Blimey, CI, I think 'that simple scene' fr...Blimey, CI, I think 'that simple scene' from your childhood will hang around for me a bit too...

And your landlady's plummet brings to mind Joan Crawford's downhill hurtle in a wheelchair (was it "Whatever happened to Baby Jane'?).

Would love to know what became of her & her son but more pressingly, where did you & your mum go next after getting your notice to leave?

I'm sure you once said you'd made inroads into an autobiography - any news on that?
