This is Me!

I've just completed an on-line quiz!
The result is shown in the graph above.

I'm told I am a "centrist moderate social authoritarian".
(Left: 0.18, Authoritarian: 1.78).

I wonder where you chaps might appear in the graph?

Crikey, CI - Is that good, d'you think?
Had a quick decco at the quiz - Very Interesting, but afraid too Political Spectrum for a feebly moderate on-the-fence nincompoop like me to fill in.
Now, a chocolate spectrum quizz...

I think it means that I'm insipid, except that I like to kick ass just a teeny-weeny bit...

Hello CI,

I took your test and my results were-
Right 2.36
Authoritarian 2.42

On the graph my X is situated 3 along and 3 up from the centre in the top right Quarter. In Battleships terms I think this is called a HIT!

Interesting set of questions. Some were very subjective. The one about public television/radio would engender a completely different response from an American, since public TV here is viewer and corporation sponsored, than from a Brit who is forced to pay a license fee for the Beeb.

How I did (Yes, I took the quiz) would depend on where the quiz was developed and the intepretation of the axes labels. A UK Conservative (with a capital H) would typically be considered quite a bit to the left over here, for example. An American Conservative tends to be much more for free enterprise, smaller government, less government interference in business, and more likely to go to church. And I am not at all sure what they mean by libertarian. I don't think that here it's considered the political opposite of authoritarian.

So in my case my results were open to intepretation.

I meant capital C

I need to look at the meaning of libertarian again....

CI - never 'insipid'! (afraid that's me). 'kick-ass' when called upon, one can imagine, but always in a Jovial manner!

Canary Islander said...

JW - a great score! And in both Battleship and Football terms - I think we need a sub!

PS. Why are the ladies being so coy about how they scored?
:-)

Dolores - I'm guessing that you've got a "thing" about chocolate. Hmmm... it's the 11th of Feb now... only three days to go... time to drop George some handy hints!!!
:-)

Coy, CI? Us little ladies?!

Expat, your response was clearly Magnificent! My response started off well with two Strongly's(!), then I began dithering and was forced to surrender to indecision.

Canary Islander said...

Expat - sentiments shared! And my mind went a bit loopy on questions where my response would vary depending on specific real-life circumstances.

I had to look up "libertarian" too!

I'm guessing you are a free-spirited lady of the right... right?
:-)

CI, politics are the preseve of my alter ego...that other Expat who's always sounding off on the DT blogs. This Expat is much more inclined to talk about food, wine, her grandchildren, and what Constance is doing these days.

And that is all you will get out of me about my political leanings, except to say that the questions on all quizzes and polls are skewed to elicit the response the compiler wants.

Religion and politics should not be discussed in polite company. Or sex. Or Money.

I'm twiddling my thumbs here in deep thought. A-Ha. Football. Without bragging too much I was always a stylish right of centre midfielder in the mould of Bobby Russell. It was his birthday yesterday. Happy Birthday Bobby.

More importantly, I've commented on Constance's blog.

Canary Islander said...

JW - I raise a glass to Bobby Russell, but then I jaw about the ghost!

(riddle, no enlightning clue)

Canary Islander said...

Expat - I think politics is a game where one aims for the middle...
:-)

Expat said...

Does one? So you are....

Sheesh....that's it. Bad Expat is coming out. Time to lock her up.

NO MORE POLITICS.

It seems I am a left, social moderate.

I have no idea what that means.

I shall mull it over.

Expat said...

JW, talking about football, did you see that amazing Rooney goal yesterday?

Canary Islander said...

Being an apolitical under-achiever is fun! And this quiz certainly proved that - but I'm a bit worried that my aim was slightly high.

What's all this about Rooney? Did you chaps miss the rugby?

Expat said...

Rugby? Isn't that a town somewhere in England?

Canary Islander said...

That's right Expat!

There's also a town named Rugby in Tennessee, which was founded by the author of Tom Brown's Schooldays, who had been a pupil at Rugby School in Rugby in Warwickshire.

At that time, the younger sons of the English gentry couldn't inherit, and went to live in the new town.

I think it was a political football at the time.

Expat, I watched the Manchester derby on Saturday. Yes, what a goal! You know this Rooney Wayne guy could possibly be good enough to play for Rangers.

Rugby? Oh come on, CI, that's just a big game of "chases" with a funny shaped ball. :-)

Expat said...

JW, He's not had the best of seasons, on or off the field. Let's hope he's got his mojo back.

C'mon the Reds!

Dolores Doolittle said...

Nice shirts, though, JW, those of rugby.
Long ago, I went out with a rugby player - he was always coming home covered in hideous wounds & stitches. He was Magnificent!

Canary Islander said...

JW - the riddle in my earlier comment referred to John Anderson White (jaw), inside right for Scotland and Tottenham Hotspur 1959-1964; a great talent who was sadly killed by lightning on a golf course.

Canary Islander said...

Dolores - the shirts are great, and my next riddle is that sometimes you are allowed to wear your own socks. Here's a sheepish grin... :-)

Canary Islander said...

Expat and JW, you've done it now. My next blog will be about a game with funny shaped balls...
:-)

Dolores Doolittle said...

Hello CI - still there perchance?

with my own sheepish grin, I'm flummoxed by your sock riddle - Do explain please!

Canary Islander said...

Double Arghh! Last time I missed Expat by minutes, and this morning I missed you Dolores! We had to whizz out to play in our monthly Petanque tournament, and we've only just now got back home.

I'm tempted to wait for a response from Expat and JW, because they are formidably knowledgeable talents on all matters RUGBY!

So I'll confirm (or reveal) the answer to the riddle at the same time tomorrow morning. Hope you are here then!
:-)

Dolores Doolittle said...

Yes CI - you must wait, as I will be with baited breath for The Answer (when I get home tomorrow afternoon after nattering Englishly with students)!

How was your Petanque? Splendid game!

Canary Islander said...

The Answer to the rugby riddle is...

The Barbarians!

The team is affectionately known as the "Baa-Baas"), and plays against international touring teams like the Wallabies, All-Blacks, and Springboks. The team is made up of players from several countries, and by tradition includes one uncapped player. The team kit is black and white hooped jersey and black shorts, but each player wears his club socks.

Check out the team photo at the link below, and you'll see an interesting array of splendid club socks!

Dolores Doolittle said...

God - but they're lovely, CI! And well worth the bAted-breath wait!

JW10 said...

Nice socks shame about the game. :-)

I eagerly await your rugby blog, CI, as I know next to nothing about that peculiar "sport".

Thank you all!

Constance has begun!
